What this site is
A primary-source map of custom home building in the Henry’s Fork corridor. The corridor has real builders doing real work, and almost nothing published locally that explains what the county requires before any of them can start. This site fills that gap and nothing else.
What you can expect from every page here
- A named source for every load-bearing number — the county ordinance, the county form, the university study — rather than a figure repeated from another website.
- The date it was checked, printed on the page, so a stale number is obvious instead of hidden.
- A plain statement of where the research stops, naming the office or the licensed professional who owns the rest of the answer.
- No paid placement. No builder buys position, wording, or the removal of a competitor.

What this site is not
- Not a builder. No contractor registration, no crew, no bids. The work is done by the firms named on the builder table, under their licences.
- Not a directory that sells rank. No firm pays to be listed, ordered or described a particular way in the local table.
- Not an engineer. Design loads are quoted from the county ordinance so you know the question to ask; the answer belongs to a licensed Idaho structural engineer.

Why an outsider’s research is worth reading
A builder’s website has to protect a bid; a researcher’s page does not. That is the entire advantage on offer here, and it only holds if the sourcing is visible. So the sourcing is visible: county ordinance text is quoted rather than paraphrased, county forms are linked by their live document IDs, and each page carries the date its figures were confirmed.

Are you a builder or a general contractor?
No. This site holds no Idaho contractor registration and performs no construction. That is the most important sentence on the page: the licence, the crew, the insurance and the warranty belong entirely to the builder you hire.
Why should I trust research from someone who doesn't build?
Because the claims are checkable. Every load-bearing figure is tied to a named, dated document you can open yourself — the county ordinance, the county's own forms, a university study. Independence is the point: no page here has to protect a bid.

The research is done at Ashton, Chester, Drummond and Warm River addresses specifically — county districts, corridor lots, local firms — rather than assembled from statewide material and relabelled. Where a fact is not local, the page says so.
